Ruby 2 has been stored for nearly two years. This spring raccoons got inside. The cover was on but they urinated on top. Seeped through the mouldings, left residue on the console and armrest. Been waiting to hear from the insurance. I don't know if the car could ever get fumigated???
Something that may worth a try.... obviously please test in inconspicuous area, but good old fashion hydrogen peroxide -/=3% (no more than 3 percent) works very well on carpet (never had it color fade) and other surfaces for removing spilt milk smell, pet urine/spray, etc. If it will not harm your vinyl/carpet dye color fastness, I would give it a try spray on interior pieces and let it stand for awhile, on carpet squirt it on directly using the spuirter built into the lid (liberal amount) you may have to do this several times, running a fan over the course of a few days (for the carpet only)! I personally would pull the seats and do a "sniff" test all over the carpet and sides of the center console, find out your problem areas. You get the idea, may even have to remove the carpet, treat with peroxide, pressure wash after spraying some Simple Green (love that stuff) on it, let it dry in the sun for a few days, vacuum then reinstall! It'll take some effort, peroxide is like .84 cents a bottle at Wally World, start with a 6 pack of those, but I'm confident you can get rid of the smell! Good Luck 👍
Try some Ozium. Not only is there a spray, but also a gel. Works wonderful. My car sat for a long time and had mildewed inside before we bought it. It still had an odor after scrubbing. Ozium neutralized the odor and I assume helped do in what ever was left after scrubbing as we are now 4 yrs on and the car will sit in the garage all winter and not have any trace of smell,
DO NOT BREATH IT. Let me repeat. DO NOT BREATH IT IN.
Ozium is not good to breath in. Open the car and let it air out first. Spray inside and let sit 12 to 24 hours. I even sprayed the carpet.
Also, as stated above, hydrogen peroxide will destroy odors. A bunch of years ago a skunk got in the barn and hosed it down. The hay stunk, my tools stunk, the doors to the horse stalls stunk. I sprayed hydrogen peroxide for days and eventually it killed the odor.
Additionally, be careful when dealing with coons and their waste. Coons carry a parasite that will blind you. A man up the street from my folks live trapped a coon, touched it with rubber gloves and forgot and touched his face. He was blind within 24 hours. The parasite destroys the optic nerve.
Give the car, etc. a very thorough but CAREFUL scrubbing.
I don't mind them in the environment where they belong, but they are destructive pests around our stuff, houses, barns. They would crap on the hay bales which I would throw away.
