Default 95 LT1 Dash LCD Problem

Here goes, my first post!

I inherited a 95 C4 LT1 from my stepdad a couple years ago. It sat for a little over a year, but when parked everything worked just fine. Now, since installing a new Interstate battery, and driving for a bit, the digital LCD speedo/odometer/fuel gauge/etc. works intermittently. As far as I can tell, it seems to be related to outside temperature. Another over 75 or so, the LCD doesn't show any information; it glows orange, the lights work in the dash, tach works, just nothing in the center LCD. On a cool night, it turns on and works. Some times, when I turn on a directional, it flashes or rotates through screens, and sometimes it doesn't display every bar on the speed. I took the dash out and looked, and didn't see any glaring issues, but I'm about to do it again to see what I can see. I watched some video's on batee.com and want to see if I missed something.

It doesn't effect performance or any other electrical (although, I replaced the original headlights with HID's - they only flip closed when I turn on the high beams, but the lights work just find high and low...a problem for another time).

Question is, if anyone can help, the main connector from the dash to the cluster has never been touched, could it be that the connections have become weak and expand/contract with the heat? Or, the connector to the LCD it self, also original as far as I know: could that be the problem? I'm happy to work on the car, but I don't want to waste my efforts or spend money on parts just because.

I don't have any pictures as of now, but just imagine having a glowing orange screen with no information displayed on it, and that's what I'm seeing.

Thanks in advance!

I’ve looked at the site, and seen a variety of videos (as I stated in my post). Is there a video or post I missed relating to, specifically, temperature changes making the LCD not work? I know I can replace a bunch of parts and make it work, I was looking for some advice as to how to fix a problem, if anyone has had the same issue. Batte.com is a great resource that did not address my exact problem.

Because of age the electrical parts (capacitors, solder joints, etc,) deteriorate so there is normally just not one part that will fix your issue. If your handy with circuit boards Batee can sell you all the parts you need. You can also send them your display and they will do it. I sent my 91 to them and works perfectly now.

this is a common problem...sending it to Batee's might be the way to go..$250.00 for them to fix the digital readout. Their video's have good info but look a little complicated.
