I've had good luck with Freshcab, probably the only thing that seems to work. Dryer sheets, moth *****, strips of Ivory soap, hiring an nude stripper are all BS...I was one of those in the past that fell for it all!
Now I put a few snap traps on the coolant overflow tank and that usually works in clearing out 10 to 15 before I they no longer snapping. Freshcab inside the car seems to keep them away from trying to get inside. This is the time of year when they are trying to find nesting sites before winter.
As others said don't even bother trying to find the entry point, it's amazing what the little bastards can get through and if you block the current entry they will just find or make another entry!
So my poor vette had to sit under it's cover for a bit over a month due to local fires, had to evacuate for a bit, then wait for all the ash laden smoke to dissipate before uncovering it. Anyways, as I was moving some junk around in the interior, just behind the passenger seat, I noticed a bit of insulation pulled out from the corner. I then see a few small mouse droppings in the hatch area, and some along the top sides along the hatch. Terrific.
Does anyone know how the heck the little bastards could even get inside?! I really don't want to rip put the whole interior, I'd rather start with some more pinpoint checks first.
Mice can get very flat and chew.. The best solution I have found besides an impenetrable vault is to put bounce dryer towels inside 4 - 6, windows up always. Hood up if inside a dry garage. And use Decon --- (not in car) outside or under car on a brick if outside - same works for a camper. You will have to track down all droppings and the **** is the worst. Use Mr. Clean or other and ventilate with fans until smell is gone. Goodluck to all of us.
