Please tell me what parts I need to make my hatch stay up? While it does release the switch, it doesn't automatically open up at least half way. Now, it won't even stay open. . comes right back down. There is nothing allowing it to remain open.
Thanks!
You need new support lifts, the things that look like little shock absorbers. They aren't expensive, you should be able to get them your local auto parts store, and easy to change.

Thanks so much! I'll also check them out on RockAuto.com. Appreciate the help!
I purchased the hatch and hood support struts for my '86 and '87 and 2003 Suburban from LiftSupportsDepot.com. They have a lifetime warranty that they honor without question. If the struts ever start getting weak, call and they'll have new ones on the way to you immediately. I've had to use their warranty after 10 years of service to replace the struts on my 2003 Suburbans rear lift gate and window. Just be sure to keep your paperwork so you can give them the original order # (if ever needed).
