clean plastic window in convertable

Finally got my car running after more years than I wish to admit. The back plastic window is same color as the tan top now. Can't see out of it at all. Is it salvageable anyone know? Or how to clean it so as to use it. Or is it going to have to be replaced. Thx

I'm having same issue with the original plastic window in my "new" '89.
I've tried to scrub it clear but no success.

I'm interested in any good suggestions that come from this thread.

Since it's already a lost cause, try buffing it with compound. If it's just oxidized on the outside, it might clean-up.

Get some Plexus - used on jet fighter canopies. If that won't do it replacement needed!

I used Meguiars window cleaner on my oxidized rear window and it came out totally transparent. Give it a try, it is relatively cheap and easy to use.

Thx guys. The window had a thick layer of dust that had turned to a greasy gunk from the plastic decomposing. I took some pinesol to take the gunk off and then polished the plastic with some car polish. looks great now.

Let me know how that works...mines a little hazy someone tried cleaning it yrs ago with something abrasive. Saveable, I hope. To have someone new in a new one would be $$
