Well technically i hit him. He pulled out in front of me. Cracked hood damage on bumber cover and under it. Headlight won’t open now. Got to go get estimate this week and police report. He didn’t stop had to run hiim down.
That stinks. Hopefully it will be fixable under insurance. We've seen similar damage on this site total cars out. Glad you were able to track the moron down though.
Did the police cite him for both leaving the scene of the accident and his traffic transgression? Honestly, **** heads like that shouldn't be allowed to drive. What'd he say about running off and you having to chase him down?
Good luck with the repairs. It's fixable for sure, but with insurance you never know if they'll say "that hood is too expensive to replace we are gonna total the car". If they do, I'd keep it and fix it myself, damage doesn't look too bad overall.
Edit: Rereading it sounds as if you didn't get the cops involved yet.. That's very risky, especially considering they ran. I hope it all works out for you, but I'd have had the cops there right away, someone who would run at first would definitely give you fake information to get out of their trouble.
Police were called and came. He lives just around the block were it happed at. They came back to where it happened at when police got there. He told me he didn't have a license. Got scared didn't know what to do. I stopped by there place today to see if they called insurance yet. We both use the same company. I'm going in morning to get a estimate i look for it to be a total. There's a junk yard that has one in it so I'm going to see how much for the parts to fix it and then go by insurance and get things started. Be later this week before i can get the police report, I ran over a rock a few years back and done some damage to it and they totaled it then. I bought it back then and fixed it then. Not sure what they will do this time. I want to keep it it is fixable. Drove it today still runs and handles ok.

Wow that must have been one big rock!
Anyway, it will be interesting to find out if the insurance company will total it again. Good luck and keep us posted.
