Default Strange Power Mirror Problem

Every time I get in my 87 (once a week or so) to drive it, the driver's side mirror is pointing way to high. I adjust it using the buttons and it's fine for the rest of the day and stays put but, a week or so later, it's pointing at the sky again. It sits in a garage, untouched and I never actually see the thing move while I am driving it.

Is this a known issue with these cars? Very strange.

My '84 side view mirrors both move out of adjustment, seem to stay adjusted while driving, but the next time I drive it, they need to be adjusted again. I believe they are moving when the doors are shut, keep in mind I am not slamming my doors by any means (just ask my kid's how picky I am about how hard a door should be closed!). This is on my to do list, I would like to think it's possible to take the glass out and "tighten" whatever is allowing the movement, but I have not researched the procedure. So, if your mirror is staying put while driving, but changing each time you get in the car, then my guess is the shock/force of closing the door is causing the movement! If the electric motor was some how getting juice to move without you running the switches, I would think after a week you would have a burned up electric mirror or a dead battery. Good luck 👍
