Odometer not reeding correctly
After my windscreen was cracked I spat it. I took the car to an auto sparky to get a few things fixed this morning.
I have noticed since I bought the car that the odometer doesn't seem to be tallying with the trip meter. I checked the pink slip from when I bought the car 9 days ago and realized that the odometer rekons I have done 8500 miles in 9 days. In my reckoning I have only done about 700.
The auto sparky says the 1000 digit is turning when it clicks over 100. Has anyone else had this problem? I now don't know how many genuine miles this car has done. If the odometer has only just started doing it then I'm ok, but if it has been doing it for a while then the car could have done all kinds of miles :mad

Honestly, it sounds like someone has screwed with your odometer before, but maybe it is just a failure.
Does your odometer have any white lines between the numbers?
Their is a plastic tab on the backside of the odometer that keeps the metal tabs aligned I supose this could be broken.
