Yesterday in pouring rain with headlights/fogs, wipers, defrost and radio On charge display dropped from the in-motion value of ~13.8Vdc to ~12Vdc when stopped at a light and in idle of ~600rpm.
With no accessories on it holds the 13.8Vdc value very well at idle.
I'm running the OEM 105Amp alternator and battery is in good condition.
It is a fairly stock '88 with an A4.
Anyone else have a similar charging issue with stock alternator?
If so, was the solution to step up to say a 120Amp alternator?
