Welcome to the C4 top down club.
You might want to look into a glass rear window conversion, especially if the car will sit in the Texas sun.

The rear window is pretty much shot, scratched and faded. I read about the glass conversion somewhere and am considering this.

I had it done when I had the top on my 89 replaced. The only downside is that you loose a little storage space due to the bulkier glass top assembly. I highly recommend it.

Congrats on your new C4.
Have you considered having a detail shop buff out that rear window and seal it with a "for plastics" clear coat?

I have not. I will explore this possibility down the road when I get more serious about the rear window. The main priorities are 1) resolving the posterior to bolster interface issue and 2) addressing some confidence-killing attributes with handling/suspension.

FYI, yesterday I tried the McGuire's plastic headlight restoration kit on my badly yellowed/fogged rear window.
I had to drop to 400grit wet (hand) sanding to remove most all of the discoloration, which took quite a bit of effort.
Thereafter I went up through the grades, finishing with 5000grit before applying the supplied sealer coating.
After the 400grit subsequent wet sanding went very quickly with little effort.
What an amazing difference. Not as crystal clear as with a new window but now very good vision through it.
Have fun and enjoy your "new" Vette.
