Does anyone know if ZF Doc is still around, I've tried emailing and calling but haven't gotten a response.

I am currently working with Bill on a new clutch system and transmission. Yes he can get hard to contact since he is a one man band. Keep trying and you will get him. Once you get him his knowledge on the C4 is staggering. I have learned so much from our conversation”s.
Thanks Hawkeye56

Is he the only person that rebuilds the c4 zf6?

Only person, probably not. But the only person with the most experience with the ZF, absolutely.
Bill has a wealth of knowledge regarding this quirky transmission and it's stupid clutch assembly. I learned a lot from him and because of that my clutch r&r went fairly smoothly.

Yes he has been a wealth of information for me as well. I am probably going to get one of his short shifter conversions shipped to me. My shifter in my 90 vert is extremely hard to get into reverse and he figures it's linkage related. Unfortunately I live in Southern Ontario, Canada so getting the car to him would be problematic to say the least. I'm into road trips but that would be a long one in a 30 year old vette!! I'm close to Toronto so a lot of vette mechanics around but so far no one that has instilled confidence that they can do the job properly.

I emailed him Tuesday to see if he had any beam plates ready to ship. He replied that night that he did and included an invoice. I paid that night, get a thank you response, and got an e-mail this morning that it's shipped and should be to me Saturday.

Crate up the trans and ship it! (That's what I did!).

Well I'm glad that worked out for you but unless I pull the tranny myself in my garage it would be a logistics nightmare. Taking the car to Toronto then having it sit there while the tranny gets shipped, repaired and returned would be hard to organize and probably very expensive. . I have a line on a good used zf6 and the seller is willing to install so I think that's the route I'll go. If it was just linkage I wouldn't go this route but Bill has told me he feels the reverse issue is a internal problem. He has been great at responding to my emails given hid obviously busy schedule.

Try giving him a text at his phone number. I got in touch with him that way last week. It might take him a bit to respond but he definitely is still doing work

He rebuilt&blue printed my trans 2 months ago. Was awesome to deal with. Also bought his beam plates and shim kit. Oh, short shifter as well. Need to find the time to install the trans.

Reviving this thread because I'm looking for a shim kit. Zf doc's website isn't functional. Can someone send me a phone number. Thanks in advance.

Same here. My emails are being returned as undeliverable. Bill and I were emailing back and forth a few weeks ago. Hope he's ok.

I've attempted an email conversation maybe 3 times in the past 18 months regarding an LS project that interested me and it would have been for maybe 3 builds. I didn't receive a response ever.

His web presence seems to be back so what ever the issue maybe things are squared away. If the web presence was down it makes sense that emails would be an issue.

I've sorta lost interest in the LS project but a friend did mention it again a couple of weeks ago.
