Started the car to let warm up, walked back out 20 mins later and car was silent. Tried to restart and starter just clicked. Put on charger and tried later, it just rolled over and battery definitely was drained. No issues when last driven and no dash lights showing any trouble. Can it be some wire issue that grounded and drained the battery? Any ideas on what’s wrong? Thanks and Merry Xmas to all.
Charge the battery up and start and report the voltage at the battery while running. Or better yet take somewhere (close) that can check the alternator.
I’m wondering if it’s a melted wire that’s grounding out and killing the battery.
Unplug the negative battery and put a voltmeter on amps setting between negative battery lead and battery...if you're pulling more than 30mA then you have a short somewhere. Start pulling fuses until the short disappears, that will at least point you to the circuit to look at further.
