Default Convertible Questions

I got the 93 convertible engine back together (milled heads, new gaskets, etc.) and it is running really well. I am in the process of doing some paint correction/polishing and other fun stuff, so I have some questions:
1. The top is relatively new and in great shape. However, at the rounded areas near the rear lock down studs, the top is not sitting on the deck. I can see about a 1/4 inch or so of daylight on both sides. Is there an adjustment or a "hack" that I can use to fix this issue?
2. The 2 lights (on the back side of the rear storage area ledge) that illuminate the rear storage area come on when I close a doors, off when I open a door. I discovered this by a drained battery. When I remove the 5 amp courtesy fuse, they go dark along with all the other courtesy lamps. Is there a separate switch for these lights? What is supposed to control their operation?
3. The top liner velco connection adhesive has failed and completely come loose at both of the metal frame posts just behind the driver and passenger side shoulder location. The fabric stretches pretty tight here so I think it will need some very strong adhesive. Does anyone know what was original or have a suggestion about a product to use?

Thanks for your input

Not sure about the 93 but earlier ones have a courtesy light timer switch behind the ps dash
about 60 bux that fixed mine.

I too have a little gap on the LH corner of the top and haven't found the "solution"; so any tips are appreciated here too.

I would try some new Velcro strips rather than use an adhesive to "recover" the OEMs.

Yes my Velcro is not great either but even new Velcro will require adhesive stronger than the stuff you buy with adhesive on it. Your right it does seem to really be taunt.
I'll probably try some contact cement.

My top liner did the same thing, I just removed it entirely.
I think the pins on the rear of the top are adjustable.

The convertible top gap is caused by either two things.
Either the pin and latch are worn or you need new weather stripping

I use weld wood landau adhesive on most roof applications
Unfortunately I think the smallest container is one gallon
I use this adhesive often for upholstery, so I have a 5 gallon can
check by a local upholstery shop, they may sell you a small quantity.

I had a new top installed last spring and had to adjust the pins to accept the new weather strip that was installed. I had to adjust mine out but it sounds like you need to do the opposite.

Thanks for all the great input. Plenty of advice to get me started on a fix. I also discovered that the powered deck lid release does not work. I have found a schematic in the FSM so will see about a fix on that. Anyone aware of a common weak point of failure in the operation?

On my 90 there is 4 different deck release buttons. The one under the deck lid does not work but the one in the glove box and the two on the doors work fine. Guess that's why I've never worried about the one under the deck.
