Default Badges or not?

I got this badge from my son at Christmas, and i finally put it on, What do you all think? I was wondering why the factory didn't do this with the L-98, or LT-1, or LT-4

I'm such the not-expert, I didn't know the one on my car (LT4) isn't "factory."

1. B/c "bragging" up a 205, 230, 240 or 245hp engine on the side of your car probably wasn't a great move.
2. B/c "CROSSFIRE INJECTION" and "TUNED PORT INJECTION" was way cooler and more Techy looking/sounding than an engine RPO code. Especially for engines that made no power.
3. GM, listing their latest "features" and content on the side of their vehicles is already woefully over played. "ABS"? "Traction Control", "EFI" (years after others' had it)? "AWD"? "4 Wheel Disk" brakes?? Etc. I once had a coach in HS that had an '86 Suburban. It had a badge that proudly displayed, "ESC" on the barn door. What cutting edge feature was ESC, in 1986? Well, none, really, but GM was trying to make it seem like a thing; "Electronic Spark Control". Ahhh...yeeeeaaah. Ford had MPFI on their trucks at the time....GM throws a cast iron intake and a Q-Jet on their truck...then applies "ESC" badging to that turd?? LAME. Super LAME.

LT1 & LT4 (no hyphen)? Yeah, those engines actually had some credentials for the time, but in '92^, I think that most everyone knew what those were; they spoke for themselves.

Yup, I guess something for the LT4 would have been neat, but corvette at that time was a bit more restrained than others. And in 92, a 300hp c4 was a badass. There wasn't a whole lot out on the street that could compete. Supra turbo was a little faster, but those were super rare and expensive.

Personally I am not a fan of extra badges, I prefer the subtle / clean / stealth look. But that one looks good, it is small and tasteful. You have a good boy

I had a Ford Edge at one time, with badges on the rear saying SEL and AWD, so I added on top of both of them WTF in chrome letters. Just because I could. Leave the Vette alone!

10-4 that, i didn't either, I've seen them on other cars, but until mine I guess I never realized it never came with any badging, but the ZR-1 did. As far as any real knowledge in this area, which i have none! my guess is the 2 dollar price for the extra part was probably the biggest reason for the lack of any badging. don't add up to much until you start looking at 100,000 cars in a production run, then 2 bucks adds up pretty quick to the bean counters.

Nope, no hyphen, in the LT-1 or the LT-4, as to why I do that, I'm not really sure, my guess, it's a mental tick hahaha
