Can anyone tell me how to remove the lower part of the steering column cover on my 91 C4? I have the part that the tilt and multi-function levers come out of, but I can't figure out the lower part of the cover. I need to get in to reconnect the rod that connects the starter switch to the part controlled by the key.
No, this is the round sleeve that is around the steering column, It is the piece just below (on the column) the piece that goes over the multi-function lever and the steering tilt lever and the key tumbler assy.
OK, To remove the steering column cover (see picture below). You have to remove the steering wheel and all the guts.
That said, it doesn't nee to come off to hook up the rod. You will still have to remove the steering wheel and the lock plate, move the turn signal switch out of the way..
