2 weeks ago I saw oil down the side of the valve cover coming from the oil cap. I bought a new one and it's still happening
it said it was proper for my car
I had that issue where oil was oozing from the cap last year after replacng the cap with a new one.
For some dumb reason the cap would start clicking and not tighten any farther when the valve covers were warm/hot.
I had to wait until they were completely cold and then I'd get maybe 5 or six more turns out of the cap before it started clicking. No more leaks after that. But I still have to remember not to take the cap off and put it back on until it's completely cold so it tightens all the way down before it starts clicking.
That's my experience with a leaky oil cap anyway.
I've yet to find an aftermarket replacement oil cap that's actually OEM spec. There's just something not right about them.
