I have a '92 LT1 and I recently installed new LED headlights. During the installation process, a few minutes after both old lights had been removed, the housings flipped up on their own. I had a theory that if both headlights were in they would close, so when I took a break I had one of the LEDs installed, and I took one of the older headlamps and plugged it into the housing. The lights then closed on their own immediately. However, when I finished installing the other LED, they did not close. In fact, when in the off position, the lights flicker and the motors tick with the flickering. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, switched the right and left side, checked the fuses, nothing. The only way to close them is unplug them under the hood and manually shut them. How in the h e c c do I fix this? It's infuriating.
Has someone mucked around with the wiring? The whole situation sounds weird. Ive replaced my headlights with LEDs and had no similar issues...
Does the dash switch work normally still?
Yep, everything works as normal except they wont fully turn off. The on switch turns the lights on and weirdly enough when you turn the foglight switch on, the lights turn off completely (but stay open) and the fog lights come on.
I think the wiring is the issue but I'm not sure what exactly it is. If it is the issue, it was there before I switched the lights and before I bought the car.

You need to do the fog relay ground mod I think. They wired the ground of the fogs through the highbeams as I recall, so they would turn off when the high bes are enabled.
What LED headlights do you have? LEDs are a lot more efficient than incandescent and so even a little current will cause them to light up. Because of this, your high beams are effectively always a little tiny bit on right now.

That's my educated but not there guess.
Better than any guess I have lol. Here's the link for it.
To be honest, those suck. I had a set like them and they end up being a spotlight pattern and utterly useless. I ended up with a set that have 3 LEDs and they're bright, have a useful pattern, and are better in every way. If I was doing it all over again, I would buy Morimoto sealed6 for 100 bucks.
