Default Leaving it topless?

Do you ever leave your vette with out its top up, or put on while going into a store, or even longer like work/school or some other event you will know that will take hours. i am kinda of worried that someone will do something with the top off. (mines a targa top). .... am i being over carefull? because its a pain to do all the time....

whats you say on this?

If i take my top off i leave it off for the day. I dont care if i got to the store or what. The only thing that can make my put my top back on is the rain. :yesnod:

If its parked in the driveway at home I leave the top off...if Im stopped at a mini mart or where I can see it I leave the top off. If its gonna be outta sight more than about 1-2 minutes the top goes on. :blueangel:

anytime its out of my sight, I put the top UP.

Its about a 15 second proceedure, and the peace of mind that it gives is PRICELESS :yesnod:

The only time I leave my top off when the car is parked is at home in the garage(where it is now, with the top off). Other than that I always put the top on if I park it for any length of time where I can't keep an eye on it. I put the top on when I get to work(even though it's in a fenced parking lot & I keep a pretty close eye on it) though I just bolt in the 2 front bolts. I'm to paranoid about leaving it open. Jealosy causes people to do very mean things if you give them a chance. Besides that, remeber in Caddyshack when Spaulding puked in that open sunroof of the Porche? Whoa! :U

If I can see her, the top stays off, otherwise, depending on the situation, I will put the top on, but only use a couple of the bolts.
I agree, 15 seconds of work for your peace of mind.
:) I'ts not a hassle, I am very happy that I even have the option to take the top off.

I usually put the top up on my roadster if it will be left for any length of time. I wind the windows up and always set the alarm. I t sort of depends on the area. At a friend's house for example, I would probably leave the top down. When I was working, the top was always up and the alarm on and I made a point of not leaving anything at all in the car, but I very seldom would take the car to work as the parking area was underground and no security.

If I go into a store for just a few minutes, I will leave the top down, but roll the windows up and set the alarm. Anything loose in the car goes way back in the storage area.

I think it's always wise to put the top on or up.

if im going to be a while in a store i will put the top up. it takes about 30 seconds to put the top up and quite a while to clean up bird crap or something someone might do to it. its only 30 seconds. it also keeps the honest guy honest.

My response is " When do you leave the top up? When you own a convertible in Canada you drive topless as often as possible. I have left the top down for weeks at a time during good weather while only putting the top up for her regular sponge bath. I am way too trusting and have had no problems to date and when I do, all it will take is a call to my friendly insurance lady to get thinks right again.

Outta sight, locked up...
Unless you can see it, you are taking a huge risk, even for a few minutes. As said earlier, lock down at least a few bolts

If it's in the daytime, and only parked for a hour or two at most, I'll leave the top off. It's nice that you can lock away any valuables like the V1 or the stereo in the center console or in back. I also set the alarm and lock it of course, so if someone does infact try to open the door, it'll trip the alarm and maybe scare them off.
