big surprise - in light of me previous post - I am attempting to run line from the fuel rails to the connector and fuel filter (thought while i was in there I would go ahead and make a mess). what are the potential options for the fuel line replace - can I use a braided with the ptfe(?) then i could run it easily along the frame - the replacement I had from summit (found it must have bought it a couple of years ago) refuses to go in place - there are a few bends off trying to bend some but a couple are supposed to be more horizontal and mine are more vertical - not only that they look as though they will be very close to the exhaust - I could try to salvage the original but there are so many bends there is little to no room for the compression connections
at this point I am wide open to suggestions, ideas, anyone that has had to do this on an 85 - tips -
If you get aluminum hard line and a flare tool you can easily make whatever you want. The stuff bends without a bender. You can make the bends in the line with your hands and it won't kink - its that nice. Flares easy also. You can do 45 37 or hard line to AN. Endless possibilities and its cheap.
I was gonna post AN to TPI fuel rail fittings i have and never used.. if interested PM me..

does the aluminum work ok with all of the ethanol and such in the gas?
because that sounds like an interesting route -
the ptfe stuff can cost a little - but if it lasts it's worth it - however if the aluminum can do the same as the steel - that sounds potentially better -

is this something you have used yourself?
thanks
As far as e85 i don't know if it affects aluminum...but yes, my entire 88 project has aluminum fuel lines. Had 2 attempts making them out of steel, got frustrated, went to aluminum and will never go back. Even though mine is a carb engine, I still ran a return line so I can go to FI down the road. Also made my own AN 37 flares on them and some Parker push lock hose. Zero issues.
Again, this is a part that we have had no issues with. Testing for 3 years has shown zero corrosion on the inside of ½” Russell aluminum line. Cutting used line open at bends and straight portions shows a “like new” surface inside. We expect that IF there is a leak in the line it would allow air and moisture into the line and it would show corrosion. Steel lines have not been an issue either, other than the fact that ethanol seems to clean up any sludge or residue left from gasoline which may clog fuel filters a time or two until it is all gone.
That is what I found online as I was curious....so now we know!
And these i had for the TPI but never used them...they attach to fuel rails, and then -6 AN line...if you want them 20 bucks ill mail them to you. Thanks
