i like the round taillights more than the squares ones and wonder if the 1990 or before back bumper could fit and be mounted on a 1996 c4. Thank you
You will have issues with trying to match bumper cover moldings. The '91+ moldings are integral to the cover. Could? ...yes! BUT doubt you'd be very happy with the results!!

what kind of issue i could have. is it possible to have the bumper molding to fit?
how did you do for the cover bumper molding?
it seems to be an issue.
Im Reasonably sure the Black rubber molding before 92 was attached to the body panels, after 92 the molding is simply a part of the body panel, so you may be able to use the back bumper from an earlier car, but i dont think it'll look very good.
You can see the body molding is a part of the bumper, not added to it.
Just went out to the garage to check it out. My car has been painted and they painted the molding the same as the car. I don't think it's rubber though. The good thing is since the bumper wraps around to the rear wheels the two moldings never actually meet. Never noticed on mine until it was mentioned.
Don't know if they painted my moldings while they were on the car or removed them but the OP will have to paint the bumper anyway so could spray the molding to match body colour.
