What is this top cable?

What is this top cable?

I've no idea what this top cable is, goes to a box, which is then only connected to the battery. To specify, the cable directly above the TV cable.

..... I see a throttle cable (not TV) with Cruise Control cable over it .....

I agree: looks like a cruise control to me, over the throttle valve cable.

since he mentioned goes to battery I would think he is talking about the electric wires that go over the top of the cables,
if so I would think ecm power for the fiteck.

I agree !! The OP seems to have 'tricked' many/most. Seems maybe it's a recent purchase and the OP is very unfamiliar with his buy! The last snapshot indicates that.

I would suggest a call to FiTech customer support. Go over your car\kit situation and maybe they can provide the correct set up\operators manual for the kit you have.

84, yes. I'm doing maintenance on it, and I want everything double checked over before I put it back out. Took it to a shop for a tune, and poof when I went to get it the transmission is not working... it only shifts into 2nd when you let off the gas.

if its a 700r4 you need a tv cable going to the throttle linkage.

..... The TV cable is under the bracket and needs to be adjusted properly ... might be a little tricky to get at the adjusting tab since its not visible in your 1st pic ... the cable end is visible attached to the throttle lever under the bracket .....
