Waned one bad when I got my vert but after considering what a pain it would be to remove it passed on the idea.
Still like them for one reason....that roofline. Reminds me of the C5Z and a C2 vert/hardtop.
Looks killer, esp with the right stance and 315s tucked properly.
Not worried about sudden rainstorms of flipping in day to day driving. If I did not sure I want to live through it anways lol
My top was down all yr except for the winter months. With it down the bouncing of the car eventually will put 4 wear holes in the top.
Would like to have had one since my '90 was originally optioned with it, but my car stays in garage or on road with top down 95% of the time, so really not interested enough to pay the prices people are asking for them.
If you want to autocross/road race/track day a vert around these parts, you need to have a certified roll bar installed. But a hardtop car can go “as is”. The removable hardtop would get you around the need for the rollbar here.
I also think the removable hardtop looks cool. But mine lives in a heated garage and when its out, the top is down. Not to mention, if you can find one around here, its prohibitively expensive...
When I have my hardtop on, the profile reminds me of a C5 Z-06. I really like the looks, but will be the first to admit its a real pain to take off and on.
