If this is your last Vette then maybe it's justified but darn, that's so expensive to get a proper paint job done IMO.
I'm way past the point of ever recouping the investment in this car, even before the paint job, haha. It was quite a chunck of money to pay for sure.

Its been due for paint for a few years as I was starting to get little cracks and bubbles in the old paint in several spots, so if I wanted the car to look nice there wasn't much choice. And if I was going to do the whole car might as well do it a color I really liked/wanted and have it done right, so that's how my thinking went. Not sure if it'll be the last vette I ever own (i'm only 34) but i've had it for 18 years and don't plan to sell for the foreseeable future.

I repainted mine a similar color, but it was a metal flake red from the new Camaro.
I replaced the hood and bumpers, but the material cost alone was over $5000.

Never thought I would put "Mud Flaps" on a Corvette, but when you hear those rocks bagging on your $13,000 paint job ... you might look into them.
Found some black ones that are barely noticeable and they help a lot, keeping rocks and road grease, etc. off your rockers.

if you sold it just cause of cost of a new paint job you may have regretted it if you like the car enough.
I sunk a ton into a 20 yr old truck despite lots of cricitism....it hurt spending/charging for sure but it is SO worth it every time I look at it.
Do it right with good materials it will hold up for many yrs...its those cheapy jobs that start fading in 3 yrs.

Beats a new car payment and you can still work on a c4. The whole car market is kind there..lease/return, have deep pockets to pay someone as they are so complex or sink $ into something old and keep long term.

Your car looks great!, I had never thought about mud flaps but ya that is a good point. The body of these C4's does wrap way underneath so it is vulnerable to chips on the rocker panels.

Ya no car payments here, always buy my cars and other stuff cash. I can for sure work on my C4, and actually we did the LS swap in such a way that its for the most part more easy to work on now than it was with the SBC.
