Re: Scratches on Paint...How do you remove them? (Joeyvette)
If they are deep scratches the only thing that can fix it will be a new paint job. If they are not that deep, meaning you can still see white paint then you can use 3M rubbing compound and or any rubbing compound and progressively use finer and finer cuts of polish until the scratches are gone. then apply the coat of canauba wax and it should be good as new.
Make sure the surface is CLEAN of any dust before you rub.
BTW:
If they are just hairline scratches I would just recommend Zaino Z5.

This maybe somwhat half a**, but Turtle was makes a colored wax. It comes in many color, including white. It's a cheap way to cover scratches. Only thing, it does not last long and requires rewaxing in a week or so . I had many road chips on my hood and used it. Finally, I got tired of waxing and had the hood repainted. Good match,

:iagree: Turtle wax makes it many colors and they have this little scratch stick thing to kinda fill in the space. Works pretty well, but I would also use some touch up paint matching your paint on top of it with a clear coat to give you that flawless shine on top of it. You can order it over major paint mixer companies. Give em your model and they can give you your factory paint exact match etc. I did that with mine, and it worked pretty well. That's probably what I'd do for deep scratches like that just short of getting a new paint job. If all else fails, go for the paint job. That's always gonna be the more expensive way, so resort to that last if you can unless you were planning it anyway. :chevy
