Default Reading codes on a 95

Is there a way to use the "paper clip" trick to read codes on a 95? I have the 16 pin connector and all I can find is instructions for the 12 pin.

Someone here on the forum has a website with instructions to do this because I was looking at it on Sunday. I have the site written down at home so I'll post it for you tonight when I get home.

Found this site: http://www.techweasel.com/articles/troublecode/GM.htm

This article says to short pins 5 and 6. When I do this the fans start up and the one to four indicator comes on.

Battery and check guages came on also, 11.4 volts indicated. I think this should be normal since tha car was not started.

Anyway the check engine light did not come on and did not start flashing any codes....

That did the trick.. :) Thanks!

Only code showing is C12. On to the next step to figure out the misfire. Plugs and wires next. I'm pretty sure fuel pressure is ok, but will check it also.

64,000 - might end up replacing opti and water pump....

I's covered. Go to facts sheets,Code recovery & scroll to bottom. Techweasel posted a very good site. 94 & 95 shud be the same. You have to ground 12 to 4 for ECM/PCM codes thru the CCM. 5&6 are for the LPTWS.
