right tire size
hey everyone, i see quite a bit of the c5 wheels on ebay. they are 17x8.5. will this size wheel fit on 275/40/17 tires?? i know the 17x9.5 wheel will fit but i wasnt sure about the 17x8.5

According to the www.tirerack.com you can put P275/40/17 tires on a 17" x 8.5" rim but you will get better performance out of a 17" x 9.5" or 9.0" rim.

In '93 the General reduced Vette front tire size from 275/40R17 on 9.5" rims to 255/45R17 on 8.5" rims.
The 275s may "fit" on the 8.5" rims but would perform better on the 9.5" rims.
