Whats up Guys! New to the forum but always been a huge corvette fan. Currently in the market for a c4 but need a little help from you guys. The car spent a few years in MD but I don't think it was driven in the winters. I will post some pics of the undercarriage if you guys don't mind giving me some input/advice. Let me know if I have anything to worry about other than the usual TLC for an older vette. Cars in beautiful shape (exterior/interior).
Been trying to find a decent price one that has lived in the south but its tough. To my understanding the c4s are mostly fiberglass and aluminum but I've heard to look out for brake and fluid lines as well as fasteners corroding. All advice is greatly appreciated. Currently scrolling through the cars for sale on the forum as we speak. Cant wait to be family lol I appreciate it!
I agree with Is777z. Looks pretty good under there for as old as it is. I have a little ding in my floor pan also. Patched it with some marine epoxy and cleaned it up with a grinder.
That cracked corner in that position under the driver's footwell is caused by mechanics who don't check the position of the lift pads closely when raising the car on a shop lift. I have the same corner crack and will repair it with foam core / fiberglass and respray the undercoat. The car looks pretty good in my opinion.
If you have concerns on corrosion I recommend you take a look at the frame area behind the lower front wheel well near the battery, and also the rear suspension bolts / nuts / fasteners (all steel) near the aluminum suspension links.
