I kind of thought that mice were more of a fall/winter thing we had to watch out for but today I pulled my Vette out of the garage and started down the road only to see a mouse sitting on my hood. The little buggers must have sticky feet because I couldn't shake him. Finally he ran up the hood and disappeared around the wipers somewhere. Tomorrow it will be mouse traps and peanut butter time!
I live in the woods and I deal with mice constantly. They are very difficult to get rid of unfortunately. I constantly keep bait and traps out. It slows them down but I have yet to get rid of them completely.
Thats a pain..they got into my truck last yr. At the time it had only sat for a month or two.
They always seem to make thier way into the ac system...you have GOT to clean that super good if thats the case, dont wanna get the hanta virus.
Every duct came out, blower wheel replaced, 100%
Some have luck with those sonic noise thingies, bounce sheets mothballs others say they are ineffective. Cats help.
Those dam things are like cockroaches they can squeeze through the smallest opening and make a mess!

Yep, living in the mountains and the cars being outdoors, it's a constant battle. I've found that there is no one perfect trap, it's best to employ different types. Another thing is to keep all brush and other junk away from the cars. If they can't have cover along the way, they usually won't bother, they like to scurry under cover. Every little bit helps.

I've found that keeping the hood open when parked (in a garage, of course) discourages mice from squatting in the engine compartment. I also keep a trap inside the Vette, after finding mouse poop on the dash several years ago.
Haven't seen evidence of rodents since doing those.
