I recently found this C4 corvette for $800, the car is missing its title and the key. it got into an accident in which the left part of the rear bumper was cracked and broke off. some cables/tubes are exposed and the seller states the car ran before the crash. is it worth trying to fix it or will i be spending way too much money to repair it? this is the part that was damaged in the accident

Unless you can fix it and paint the car to match, cost will be more than the car is worth even with a clean title.
Worthless aside from parts
Can the guy file for a lost title and get a replacement? That would solve the title issue...unless it's stolen and he can't. If he can get a title...deal with the lost key and kart it out!
You guys surprise me. I would jump on it for $800. If you can't get a title for it then you could part it out and make $3k easy. I've pulled apart 5 of these now. Ebay is your friend. Other option is find another clapped out C4 with a title and use this as a parts car.
While privacy laws prohibit cops and motor vehicle departments from giving out much info. I believe there ARE ways to request a check to see if a given VIN is on a hot sheet. I'd start there.
What is the seller's explanation for no keys no title? Not saying I would or would not believe it, but what's he telling you? *IF* the car is not stolen, the key issue is relatively minor and the price is right.
And I see we have here yet another example of somebody joining, making ONE post asking for help - and then never logging back on. OP has not been on the forum for over a month.
