Default Unknown Part please identify

Found this in the back of my 1996 C4. Any ideas as to what it is. Sorry, could not figure out how to resize.

it's an aftermarket part used as a spacer on the rear hatch. keeps the hatch up about an inch or so. supposed to aid in ventilation

It’s actually pretty functional, I found when I tried it.
Only problem is, I always think about it after I am driving. ;(
