This is the first C4 I've owned.Looking under the car I cannot see a secure spot to place to floor jack.On the C3's I used the frame rails but it don't look like that will work on my 86.
From the front, I place the jack under the front bumper support or crossmember, whatever they call it and jack up, or from the side, I'll place the saddle on the frame.
For the rear, I use a "Jack-A-Vette" which is a vertical piece that fits between the exhaust pipes and lifts the car by the differential carrier.
Or I'll take a 4 x 4 and place it under the spare tire and jack it up that way.
lets see.. fron theres the cross member or whatever the engine sits on. the back you can get somethign to fit inbetween the exaust pipes and jack using a spot in the middle of the car. i've read of people placing a 4x4 on the spair, and jacking from there, but that wouldnt get it high enough for me, so i used the sides. right under the side mirrors. i placed a couple of layers of cardboard to keep from scratching up the pannels. and it worked fine.
theres plenty in the archived topics that you can search and find good info.

Re: Jacking up a C4 (jlsru75)
 I lift mine a lot, as I am sure others do
I bought three standard C4 jacks on E Bay. They are easy to use and I use the factory "slots". Never had a problem! I use them to raise my car once it is on the KWIKLIFT.
If you wanr greater height, slid a 2 X6 under the jack before lifting
These jacks are really stable, just as usual, chock the wheels remaining on the ground
