Recently I purchased a refurbished 90-96 CDM with bluetooth added from eBay. I haven't seen mention of this, so I figured I would let you all know this product is available. You can't talk with it, it only receives bluetooth audio. I haven't figured out where I want to mount the switch yet, but it's simple to go from AM/FM to bluetooth. Install is simple on my 93 since the CDM is in the passenger rear storage compartment, but I believe it is a pain for earlier years.
I have! Pairing took a few seconds, and since it's internal to the CDM you retain the AVC (I think that's the acronym? The part that makes the audio louder to compensate for higher speeds) and the tone controls. I've enjoyed it so far.
Great to hear - definitely considering this myself.
SCV = Speed Compensated Volume? That's cool as well. The Bose isn't the greatest thing these days but I stuck a few CDs in mine a couple weeks ago, and honestly it sounded pretty darn good to me working outside the car in the garage. This would beat the FM-modulated solutions for sure.
