I was running about 40 went to a stop,as soon has I left my foot engine died I coast to the stop put it on park and I try to get it started it crank crank and crank again but never fired. 93 LT1 35k stock optie. I’m lost. Thank you
First try pulling codes, even if not active there will be history codes. Just need to use the paper clip method.
you have a 93, could be numerous things, but sounds potentially heat related....
Any other symptoms? Service engine light? Odd behavior/SYS message on lcd? Service ASR light coming in while driving? Security light on or flashing (while driving?)?
pull the code here's what show of: Module 1 : H31 H33 H35 H37 H74 Module 4 : H42 Module 9 : H62
Were there any symptoms or things going on the dash/SES light up to it dieing? After it died would it crank/turn over? Did you crank it until the battery was dead?
those codes seem to point towards low voltage...maybe check your battery, make sure connections are clean and tight and check for bad grounds.
one of those codes points potentially at ICM I believe but again low voltage could do it too???

Ill let some others chime in.
Thank Pedrict yes I was very angry and I crank that thing to the moon battery was so low that the hazard light almost die.

Ok - so for now I’d clear codes and start fresh a bunch are due to dead batt. Back to my first set of questions, were there any odd behaviors, SES light, sys on lcd, security light or service ASR light that came on or come on while driving?

I’m not sure but I think it happens, that car is new to me and I’m learning how to read his mind

Alright, so I'd drive it some more after clearing codes (just disconnect batt for a while) then watch for those symptoms/signs I mentioned (security light blinking, service ASR light coming on, SYS messages on LCD etc...), especially after the car is warm/hot. This time if it *does* die do not run the battery down before pulling codes. I am suspicious about your ICM, but if you have those other symptoms then I'd lean towards ECM... Could always be other basic things like fuel pressure. Let us know what you find... if you start to have those symptoms I mention b-line it home before you have trouble, or if your SES light comes on for example! If it does die you can try to let it cool first before restarting and that may get you home, either if the ICM or your ECM is having heat related issues (you can always rap the ECM with your fist too to see if that gets it started ).
Sounds to me, first thing to check is fuel pressure. Pump going bad might present like this.
As usual, basics first: fuel, air, spark.
Yup! OP: Your car has a computer, and if you aren't taking advantage of the plethora of data available by scanning it (or having it scanned if you don't have a scanner yet ). It makes a world of difference - having the ability to plug in a scanner and get a complete picture of what is going on!

I agree that's why I ask you guys on the forum I'm a retired carpenter and there's almost nobody that can work on these old car around me.

Don’t fret, I’d clear codes by disconnecting batt for a while, then reproduce this issue then pull codes with paper clip. That could point at the exact issue. It also wouldn’t hurt to pull codes now just to see if anything is different.
Checking fuel pressure just requires a gauge hooked to fuel rail so should be relatively straightforward.
Also you could do yourself a big favor by getting a factory service manual. Especially once you have a rough idea where to look it has troubleshooting steps baked right in (such as diagnosing fuel pump among others).
Battery is disconnected till tomorrow, I have
a 94 FSM that I found on Facebook
10-15 minutes at most is all that's needed... as to FSM you really need to find a 93 FSM, there were a lot of changes and for example a different ECM, sequential vs batch fuel injection, change to a vented opti among others in 94 vs 92/93. There are digital copies you can get relatively inexpensively.
today I have connected the battery and it start right away, did'nt have the time to take her for a spin, although I've noticed two things when I start the car the primary fan kicks in even if the engine is stone cold and it shut after a couples of minutes also my fuel gauge still read full with half a tank of gas. dont know if it's related with my engine stalling issues. Thanks guy.
