Searched but no answer so far. Is it simply heat sink grease??
What is the white grease between this part (I don't know what the part is) on the front of the passenger side head? It is between two dissimilar metals. I have gotten this for use on electrical components in my Benz. I seem to see it between heat sinks (aluminum) and a steel plate it may mount to.
White with aggressive adherence like anti-size. Doesn't wash off. I want to apply a fresh coat while cleaning up this area.
Electrical supply house here don't know what it is which I find crazy.

You can even find thermal paste at Best Buy; it's used for CPU heat sinks in laptops and it transmits heat very effectively. I'd stick with the automotive type for our use as it's probably engineered for a harsh environment better than the CPU stuff.
