This 1987 C4 that I’m restoring has vacuum lines removed, rotted out just hanging all over the engine. Looking at the vacuum diagram in the manual, it looks like the source for all the lines are the same. So, does this mean that as long as a line is connected, it doesn’t matter from what device was connected before or after it just as long as it has a vacuum is present?
Nope, it very much matters where each tube is connected. Example, the valve for the heater core looks like it's in the wire harness and just goes from near the distributor to the valve. Negative, that hose actually goes past the firewall and into the A/C programmer. Then a separate tube goes from the programmer back to the same wire harness, but out in a different spot.
Check your radiator for a diagram of the vacuum lines. I have an '87 z52, will likely match, depends on options. Let me know if you'd like a pic of my diagram.

I'd be more than happy to see it. I'll take any help I can get. I did not see this system torn apart so putting it back to together is a challenge. Thank you very much.
