Rear diffuser on a C4.

Would you put a rear diffuser on your C4? I made a late night purchase on wish and bought a rear diffuser it has 4 fins and fits between the exhaust. Can be bolted to the spare tire holder. I’m on the fence about installing it.

I found this pic on the internet. But it’s the same looking thing. Should I install? I think it looks kinda cool.

I remember in the days of C4 when I owned one, they were big with owners and I always thought of getting one and painting to match the car.

I bet it's like lot of things not made anymore, cause when C4 was in productions aftermarket production was at high, like it is now for the C8.

You might find it yard sales or car shows that have venders, or ask in the C4 for sale area saying WTB.

hey now...it’s *possible* this diffuser has proper expansion chambers that might help the aerodynamics no? Yes limited by the underbody not being smooth but *maybe* a minor improvement?

you can buy them on eBay or wish or Amazon. Just type in universal rear diffuser and all kinds pop up. eBay has the best selection but price check all the sites.

Vertical strakes in a diffuser aren't entirely necessary and are done just to ape the more advanced racing teams. They are necessary to ensure the vortex generated by other aero devices such as the y250 (F1) or others are able to remain stable without "mixing" to allow the airflow to stay laminar and "stick" even at high expansion angles.
They would add a modicum of drag as well, but they do look cool.
