1993 Quasar Blue with black top.
Seeking thumbs up or down before I drill holes in my rear deck. I was fortunate to acquire a NOS rack from a Forum member.
I don’t need storage space for trips, I think it looks cool.
Just asking opinions before I drill.
Thanks!
It's your vette, if you like it, go for it! That being said, you can always drill holes-anytime....but you can't undrill them!!!! Maybe, hold off for awhile and really, really be sure it's the right move for you! As for me, whenever I'm window shopping C4's, many times if I click on a vert and see the luggage rack in the photos, I back out of the post and I'm on to next one! To me they belong on a Corvette as much as mud flaps do....both are very functional but have no business on and detract from a sports car!!! Luggage racks to me are like automatic transmissions to the guys who will only own the manuals! (I like automatics equally as well, just a comparison) Good luck with your choice! For what it's worth, it's a good thing we all have different tastes, it'd be pretty boring if we all liked exactly the same thing! 👍
Back in the day those luggage rack, also came with special suitcase made to fit on the luggage rack to carry your clothes on a trip since space is minimum.
If you don't have complete set I wouldn't install it.
This what what I am talking about, so if you don't have the complete package, your choice.

If you're used to seeing the rack and you see one without it it looks nakie in fact it's a safety factor as small aircraft have been known to try making a landing on that long *** piece of real estate!
You must be young or new to sports cars! Luggage racks were very common on sports cars back in the day.
Thanks for your support, DRM and KMS. Yep, back in the day I had an Austin Healey Sprite, MGA 1600, Austin Healey, and Fiat 124 (not at the same time). All four had the luggage rack mounted.

Surprise no Triumph Spitfire or TR6 they were favorite back in the 60s & 70. Lot of fun with luggage racks in the back!
my tr4a had one, my first new car---lots of fun but not good for long distance highway driving.
1966 was my big year, degree, commission, new wife, new car, cav platoon, free vacation in se asia.
Still have the wife :d

Actually, I'm 43 years old, I'm aware that they have been around for a long time, as I've disliked them just as long! Was raised into cars from both sides of the family, been around muscle cars and sports car my whole life! I was brought home from the hospital after being born (1978) in a 1970 Coronet RT Convertible, that car still sits in my Mother's garage! My wife's Yukon has a luggage rack, guess how many times it's been used....the thing for me is it's gotta be less than 5% of vette owners who have one, have actually used it! And even fewer still, who do religiously, and for those that do....that's great! Like I said before, very functional but looks completely out of place on any corvette/sports car IMO!👍It's like putting a milk crate on a Hayabusa!
