Default C4 entry sill hight

Hello all, just starting to research to buy my second vette. Had one as a teenager. Am wondering if all the C4s had that really high entry sill? I am leaning towards a late model C3 though (78 - 82) but will explore all options 🙂 Thanks

As has been said--yes. Drive a few Vette's if you're a newbie and in the market for the first time. I drove C4's (which is what my heart was set on) and C5's (which my knees preferred). To me, they were entirely different driving experiences. The C4 felt like an old-school muscle car in terms of how it drove, and you do drop into that "only fit one-way" cockpit of the C4 like a fighter pilot. FYI: DON'T use the steering wheel to host yourself in and out. The C5, on the other hand, felt like my NC Miata; tight and precise to drive, roomier inside. As I already have a seriously modified NC--and I REALLY wanted a C4-- the choice for me was clear.

But drive them both (and even a C6 if you find one in your price range)-- buy the Vette you love and you'll always love your Vette ;-)

Best advice you'll get. Drive 'em. You'll know what suits once you do.

Yes, C4's have high sills. It ain't a big deal.

I'm thinking a few minutes with a Sawzall on each side and high sill issue resolved.

The C4 is the better choice a go cart/race car chassis that needs to be driven and gives raw road feel like a true modern muscle car
