There are so many of these that are not worth restored ones that have been rode hard and hung up wet so to speak I was wondering if anyone has turned one into a simple street rod I have a 86 I got way cheap and was thinking about side pipes hot small block with a tunnel ram sticking though the hood instead of it just sitting around rotting away what do y'all think 🤔

Search "vette cart/kart". There are quite a few members here who have done just that.

So you would rather see it get scrapped ? While I am not a fan of that look either, any C4 kept on the road is better than one left to rot.

I hate so see a c4 rotting away. If not restored, I'd rather see them become parts donors so others could live. Let them die with dignity.

Fastest cars are the ones that are still primed. If it's a lost cause I don't mind karts. Obviously hacking up a good working one for it is dumb but.... but a hit one or a fire one etc. Just be happy and enjoy doing it. That's more important than anything. I don't care as long as you're enjoying it.

Matte black is nice on the right vehicle type but I think people play it out just like chameleon wraps.

it was bought as a parts car but we got flooded and the other one was basically lost but this one is not worth restoring so that is why I figured I would make a hot rod out of it just basically a cruiser that looks mean . Better than letting it rot i would say

Go for it and enjoy it cause once its parted out its gone forever. I bought an 86 with the sole purpose of making a drag car out of it. The cost to restore would greatly exceed the worth of it so ill enjoy it another way.

I agree. Sounds like you're about to have some fun. This was my inspiration when I started the mods on mine. A joke but still fun to look at. they look pretty good with the rear jacked up a little like a 70s street machine if you put the right parts on it.

I know I may be in the minority, but I'd rater see one rot than turned into a "Bat Mobile" (with wings, and scoops, and exhausts pipes...). But, that said, the only one it has to please is U. Who gives a hoot what anyone else might think as long as you're having fun!?

go for it, old school. cut the hood, get that tunnel ram on , gear drive, grey primer, centerline autodrags
skinnies up front, that type of thing. Or just leave the paint to age

Lots of my older cars were like that, $ was in the drivetrain. Make it stop and drive well....presentable interior or carpet and cheapskins
Dont forget a wink panel mirror with a featerh/roach clip hanging from it.

For the love of god dont paint the wheels black!
