On a 1987 Corvette coupe, under the car, in front of the driver side rear suspension there is a bundle of steel lines, five of them I believe. They look like brake lines and two of them may be for the rear brakes. One of those lines has two ends joined together with a rubber hose that looks to be about a ¼” hose. That hose has deteriorated to almost nothing. The car seems to idle fine and I see no brake fluid leaking so I need to know, where do it go? What do it do? I have not found a diagram of that area. If you have an answer I'd appreciate it. My next move is to put a smoke test on it.
Evap lines I'm quite sure run up the 'left' side of the chassis. 1/4" seems appropriate. It's referenced in various places in the FSM. I don't see a specific 'routing' illustration but there are references in both the fuel section etc.

I'm thinking it 'may' be that as well. It would be nice to 'know' that's what it is. Thank you for the reply.
