What is this missing connection on the radiator? This C4 is relatively new to me and didn't notice this when I bought it. Everything runs fine, was checking the radiator fluid and saw this.
Nice to have a plug but not critical. That top fitting is matched by a lower fitting on the same side of the radiator. It's the automatic transmission cooler as Deepa said - not used on your car - and they usually (but not always) have a plastic plug over the threaded opening. Check to see if your lower one has a plug on it also.
Don't the 4+3s use the radiator for cooling the od?
They do. I'm 99% certain the radiators are the same for both the auto and manual in the early cars. (Unrelated note: I am looking forward to ditching those OD cooler lines in my 85 once I switch to a ZF.) I would just get some plugs if it really bothers OP.

you’re right but the ‘89 switched to the six speed so no auto trans. Makes sense that they re used the radiator though since most of the rest of the car is the same.
