Default 1993 40th Corvette

Can I get good or bad feedback on the Continental performance tire vs the Nitto performance tire?

Other brands??? Not many brands to choose from.

I have a 40th Corvette.

If your staying with the original staggered wheels on your 93, my choice:
Look at Michelin PSAS4 or General G Max AS-05
245/45/17 Front
275/40/17 Rear

Or purchase two extra Sawblades, 17x 9.5 and go with 275/40/17 on the front & back
Check them out on Tire Rack,

I just replaced my tires with Continental Extreme Contact Sports (255 front, 285 back). I did a lot of research and so far I am very satisfied. The Continentals were much better reviewed than the Nittos.

I went with General GMAX RS on mine and like them a lot. I considered the Nitto's but saw a number of posts on here with complaints about them flat spotting badly from sitting. With the cooler driving conditions that are common in the spring and fall around here I didn't want to deal with that every time I went for a cruise. Yes, there are better tires out there but most are way more expensive and I didn't feel I could justify spending that kind of money just to see them age out long before the tread wears out. I don't drive my 92 convertible in bad weather so it will get most miles put on during the summer months. The Conti's are pretty well regarded on here so those would likely be a good choice if they fit your budget.

Agree 100%. I have them on my 94. Continental makes the exact sizes the car left the factory with. I'm going into year four with mine and love them.

I would buy two 9.5 wheels for the front and go with the 275/40/17 on all 4 corners. That tire size is plentiful.
