Default LT 4 Idle problem

I have a 96 LT4 in a 1932 Ford street rod. I has run great for almost 50K miles. It starts when cold as it always has, Idles up and almost immediately starts to come down to normal idle speed. After driving it and reaching normal running temps, when I turn it off and restart it, the idle races to maybe 1500 RPM's and take a long time to settle back down to the normal idle speed. I recently replaced the O2 sensors, but that didn't seem to help. I do not have a scan tool so I'm really "shooting in the dark". Any ideas?

You might want to try removing the idle air control valve and clean it with crc throttle body cleaner. They tend to get gunked up. I’m going to be doing the same in the near future. I have heard you should not use carb or brake cleaner because they’re too harsh. I would give that a shot before you go throwing money at parts with no diagnostics- something I’m very accustomed to doing myself lol.
