Took Sawblades off to purchase new tires. Noticed the inside of wheels were black with brake dust. What is the best option to clean before mounting new tires?
Thanks in advance.
Simple Green and a stiff bristle brush (not a wire brush). Let the simple green sit for 30 seconds scrub with the brush and then rinse with a lot of water. You may have to repeat several times.
These products seem well reviewed so it’d be interesting to see if they work for your purpose:
Hyper Foam for wheel cleaning and getting the tire back to black plus the Raid Decon for brake dust and the Tire shine at the end for look and some protection on the tires themselves:
These video reviews seem interesting so it’d be great if someone with personal experiences on Corvettes can confirm their effectiveness. Getting the tires from brown to black with the hyper foam seems like it’d be good so curious if they might work for you. Also if anyone tries the tire shine and can let us know how long it lasts it’d be good to know.
