Default Oil Temp Sensor

Hey guys. I need a new oil temp sensor for a ‘95 LT1. Does anyone happen to know the AC Delco part #. Below is the one Advance Auto has listed for my car.

I was trying to confirm and order it without having to put the car on the lift twice. I have to drive to the lift and I’m lazy lol.

That I'd say won't do it! That I'd say is coolant!

Well I couldn’t locate an original AC Delco sensor. Yet another discontinued OEM part for the C4. eBay had a few options for reproduction parts at over $100 a pop. I wish that AC Delco would be more supportive of the fact that there are tons of C4 vettes and F body GM cars still on the road. My options were corvette central or NAPA. NAPA has the Echlin line of sensors made in Poland apparently. I’ve never had a problem with their sensors so I went with NAPA because it was cheaper. Hopefully it’s trouble free. I’ll replace it when I change the oil.

Where's the oil temp sensor located on the LT1?

It’s above the oil filter adapter housing in the block. A bit hard to get to but when doing an oil change and the filter is off it’s easier. From what I understand, some guys take the oil filter adapter off to do it. Probably not a bad idea to replace the adapter gasket while your at it because from what I understand it’s a common leak area on the LTX engines anyway. I’ll report back once I actually do the job.
