Some previous owner installed a car bra that included self stick Velcro strips. Cover and Velcro are long gone. How do I remove glue residue without harming paint?
Buy 3M adhesive removal at a auto supplier of paints. You can also buy a disc to remove glue about $30 . I have used this to remove glue to place glueabel moldings back on. Also PPG makes a quart of DX330 for cleaning glue etc. This is best i have ever used and keep it in stock for removing bugs, tar etc with no harm to vehicle. Once again about $30 Good Luck
Another vote for 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner! One quart will last for years, and in the hundreds of times I've used it, it's never damaged the surface/finish of anything! In your situation, I would suggest using microfiber towels....soak one of them with the remover and wipe it down, keep resoaking your towel and wiping again and again. At first it'll seem like it's not working, but after a handful of wipings, the adhesive will soften up and start come off more quickly. After you've removed the majority of it, get a fresh towel and wipe it down with the remover a few more times....done, no damage👍
Wow what a great product. I would have been happy if it just worked, but it made the job so easy. Wiped it on and let it set for just a minuet the wiped it and all the goo right off with no damage to clear coat or paint (did wash with soap after just because). This is a A+ product to solve a sticky problem. Just a shout out, all the parts stores "carry" it but only O'Reilly's "had" it.
