I've a '93 (auto) and the AC compressor doesn't seem to be cycling on. I can set the temp on the HVAC control, work the fan, etc, and it blew cold last year before I put it up, but now just hot air. It appears the compressor isn't engaging. I disconnected the wirte at the top pressure switch (see photo) ) and the fan popped right on. I assume its the pressure switch, but should I replace both the high and low to be on the safe side--or am I barking up the wrong tree?
There is a very good possibility that the pressure in your system is too low and it won’t let the compressor kick in. Both my 93 roadster and 98 GMC pick up had no ac this spring. I went and got one of those cheap ac recharge kits, you can get them at any auto parts store. The truck took 3 cans and the Vette 2. They both have cold ac now. Cheap do it yourself fix.
