Well, guess what. They don't fit Grand Sport wheels. The outside diameter is correct, but the inside is not. These are for wheels with a smaller center hole than GS wheels. In other words, they fit the hole in the wheel flush but won't snap in. they just fall out.
They are GM caps with this part number on the back 14046926
Didn't some of the early 16" wheels have black center caps?
I would like to find out what they fit so I can at least resell them.
84 and 85 had black rim centers and black centercaps
86 has natural aluminum finish rim centers and centercaps
87 has argent gray rim centers and centercaps
That's a late model (91+) C4 logo. Why would a C4 built prior to 91 have that logo for the wheels and other logos on the car itself?
Do they have the wire snap ring in place on the backside of the cap?

No snap ring. They pop in just like the center caps in my wheels now, just the overall diameter of the teeth is about 1/4" smaller.

The stock caps for my sawblades have a circle of "teeth" with a wire snap ring inside that creates additional pressure that lock the teeth to the backside of the wheel. It wouldn't help if you have that much space (1/4"). :nonod:
I wonder if the center hole is a different size on sawblades than on the GS wheels?
Blue92 has a point about the emblems. If they fit the hole but won't stay, I'm wondering if they aren't for an aftermarket wheel? Or are they GM and you're trying to put then in an aftermarket wheel? All the possibilities haven't been listed.
Sorry, you stated they are GM caps. So I guess that only leaves, what type of wheel are you trying to use them in?
