C4 Rear spring replacement spacers
I'm building a 1938 Chevrolet pick-up truck with C4 suspension all around. I replaced the rear spring as the rear of the truck didn't sit level. I purchased a Z51 rear spring and now want to install it. How do you determine the thickness/ number and location (above or below the spring) of the spacers used where the spring meets the differential? The existing was a mess of all size and thickness spacers and the mounting bolts were not tight. Some spacers were steel, others aluminum, some thick paper, some had holes, others did not. Tried on line, Utube, the library, etc. no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This thread has various year spacer arrangements. Just make sure you 'fill the void' and secure bolts.
