Default extra adaptor? what does it do

my 92 project had this adaptor looking device that I am not sure what it's use is. It is not they lug nut lock key. It looks like the same size on both ends almost like a very small extension. it was in the velcro/elastic holder along with locking lugnut key

so here is a side by side with the locking lug key and the odd adaptor. you can see they look alike except one fits locks and the other fits regular lugs.

It is a lug extension that was provided with ZR-1's to allow the factory lug wrench to reach the sockets on the depth of the 17x11 rims.

that makes perfect sense. how it ended up on a non-ZR1 is probably lost to time

One is for the locking lug, the other is for the rest, and it also fits the jack.

Default Lug nut key

I had the same problem, no key. Took my car to the tire shop they had a pound on key removal tool. Pound it on and impact it off. Did all 4 in 5 minutes no charge.
